Dentists call a gap between teeth a "diastema".  This young patient's "diastema" was "closed" in one visit using layers of bonded composite resin to achieve lifelike shading and translucency.  No anesthesia is required for this procedure as no drilling into the tooth is done when the composite is bonded to the tooth surface.
