Bonding
Bonding is an excellent way to repair or
change the shape or color of teeth, particularly front
teeth.
Bonding enables your dentist
to:
-
close spaces between your
teeth
-
repair chipped or worn
teeth
-
lengthen small or misshapen
teeth
-
whiten stained or darkened
teeth
Bonding is a one-appointment
procedure that starts with careful matching of the color of the
bonding materials to your tooth color. Next, your teeth are lightly
roughened and a gel is applied to ensure that the bonding materials
will adhere. Then the bonding material is applied, sculpted and
hardened with a high-intensity light. The final step is a careful
polishing of your new teeth. Once in place, bonded
restorations are very strong and can improve the appearance of
your teeth, resulting in a beautiful, natural looking
smile! A single tooth can be shaped and colored, or
your entire smile can be changed!
