Digital X-rays

At Summit Dental, we use Digital X-rays to provide exceptional dental care and accurate diagnoses.  The process of digitally capturing an image is faster and safer for our patients.  We use both bitewing X-rays which show decay between teeth, and Panoramic X-rays which give an overview of your entire mouth.

How Do Digital Dental X-Rays Work?

We first place a small sensor in your mouth that is connected to a computer.  Then, an X-ray beam is sent through your teeth and into the sensor which records the image on the computer.  The sensor can then be repositioned to other sections of your mouth if multiple X-rays are needed.  Your X-rays can be viewed right away!

Why Are Digital Dental X-Rays Better?

The digital dental X-ray system is more sensitive than conventional dental X-rays, so your exposure to X-rays is reduced by as much as 80 percent!  Since the pictures are immediately loaded onto the computer, we can see your X-rays easily and quickly.
